A shared base is both a building project and a coordination problem. Before you gather materials, make sure everyone imagines roughly the same result.
Agree on the brief
Choose a purpose: a temporary shelter, a trading stop or a long-term home. Sketch the main entrance, storage, workshop and paths before adding decoration. Decide how much land the project needs and check permission to build there. Avoid expanding into another player's area by assumption.
Give each person a clear contribution
One player can gather an agreed material list while another marks the layout and another tests the routes. Rotate tasks if someone wants a change. A job should have a visible stopping point, such as finishing one wall or organising one storage section.
Make shared storage understandable
Label categories and separate project materials from personal items. Agree how rare items can be used. If the group changes the plan, update the list before gathering more supplies. Good labels prevent the same question from being asked every session.
Review before scaling up
Walk through the unfinished base together. Can a new arrival find the entrance? Are routes wide enough for the intended use? Is there a place to stop safely? Fix these practical issues while changes are still cheap, then spend time on detail.
